Project Name: Facebook Interaction Chart
Project Goal: To show many different levels of information in an organized manner.

Project Process: On December 20th, 2009 I began saving all my Facebook notifications. When I stopped on August 10, 2010 I began to categorize my accumulated 1139 notifications. Once broken down into categories, I tallied the number of notifications each friend had in each category. These two steps allowed me to view many different kinds of statistics; the most and least common kind of interaction friends made with me, the number of males and females I'm friends with, how often each sex interacted with me, which friends interacted with me the most and how, how many of my friends interacted with me at all, and much more.

The majority of organization is based on scale. The large circles represent the number of notifications in each category compared to each of the other categories. The width of each line from each friend increases based on how many notifications they contributed to the overall pool. The size of the name of each friend is proportional to the percentage of the total number of notifcations they contributed.
